501 Main Street, Sebastopol, CA

501 Main Street is a classic mixed use project.   The property was a former gasoline station dating back to the 50’s.  The project sits on an 1/2 acre site.  There are 6 craftsman style homes and 4 live work units.   

Del Nordby entitled the project over a two year period of time and ultimately designed and built what is now a Sebastopol icon.   Some project challenges included receiving approvals from the city’s design review committee, planning commission and ultimately the city council.  The final vote of approval was unanimous. 

The project architect, Kevin Kellogg, is  a resident of Sebastopol and successfully captured the feeling of small town Sebastopol into the design of the buildings.  This was the first project to be certified as a Green Build” under the city of Sebastopol’s green building ordinance.
